The Anglesey Arms Hotel is steeped in history – the tack from the first horse to cross the Menai Bridge is found above the bar and during the Second World War the hotel was used to sign up new recruits including well know artist Kyffin Williams who was declared medically unfit. The bell used to historically call ‘last-orders’ can still be found in the tap room, was in the original ship’s bell rescued from the HMS Conwy which ran aground in the Menai Straits in April, 1953.
