About us

The Anglesey Arms hotel is over 200 years old. We offer a warm welcoming atmosphere with home cooked food and real ales. Supremely situated in the most prime of locations in Menai Bridge; we're the first building to greet you as you pass over the infamous Thomas Telford suspension bridge and enter the Isle of Anglesey.

We have 16 spacious en-suite bedrooms each with flat screen televisions. There is also a function room which comfortably caters for 120 guests and we also have a license to conduct marriages on the premises. Our well-established hotel oozes local heritage and is the ideal setting for functions and parties of all kinds and for any tourist or business clientele who happens to pass by.

The hotel is situated only a two-minute drive from the University of Bangor, Bangor City Centre and the A55 expressway. We're within easy reach of all the major local attractions including Snowdonia, Castles, Golf Courses and a driving range, water sport activity centres, and much more.

History

The Anglesey Arms Hotel is steeped in history – the tack from the first horse to cross the Menai Bridge is found above the bar and during the Second World War the hotel was used to sign up new recruits including well know artist Kyffin Williams who was declared medically unfit.

The bell used to historically call ‘last-orders’ can still be found in the tap room, was in the original ship’s bell rescued from the HMS Conwy which ran aground in the Menai Straits in April, 1953.
